I started creating my own films because I was frustrated by the lack of leading roles for middle-aged women. It felt like the industry was telling us women don't have relevance past forty. Writing became my way to help change that and create characters who show women as complex, versatile, and interesting at every age.
Acting is the role in filmmaking I enjoy most. There's something incredibly fulfilling about stepping into a character and helping bring a story to life. Along the way, I've learned that rejection is part of the journey — but it doesn't define the value of the art we create. I've learned to believe in myself, keep moving forward, and remember that winning doesn't always come with ribbons or awards.
I love producing because I enjoy bringing people together and turning an idea into something real. Independent filmmaking has taught me resilience through limited budgets, wearing multiple hats, and moments of self-doubt. You don't have to have everything figured out to create something meaningful — you just have to keep showing up. Start where you are, use what you have, and trust that your voice belongs here.
